Unlocking Kids’ Creativity
This three-month art course is designed to introduce children to essential drawing and painting techniques while encouraging creative exploration and storytelling.
By the end of the course, students will have gained confidence in their artistic abilities, developed foundational skills, and created a portfolio of work to showcase.
This course plan aligns with the Swedish school schedule, allowing for flexibility during breaks, and ensures the children have a comprehensive and enjoyable learning experience.
Course Overview
- Duration: 12 weeks (starting in September 2024 and January 2025, with breaks following the Swedish school schedule)
- Schedule: 1 session per week, 1.5 hours per session
- Group Size: 5-10 children
- Target Ages: 7-11 years old (ideal age range for foundational drawing and creativity development)
- Course Objective: Introduce children to fundamental drawing and art techniques, fostering creativity, observation skills, and confidence in self-expression.

Why Ages 7-11?
- Cognitive Development: Children aged 7-11 are at the stage where they can understand basic art concepts, follow instructions, and develop fine motor skills.
- Creativity and Exploration: This age group enjoys experimenting with different materials and techniques while expressing their ideas visually.
- Artistic Growth: They are open to learning the fundamentals, which sets a strong foundation for future artistic endeavours.
Materials Needed
- Drawing paper, pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, rulers.
- Brushes, palettes.
- Acrylics, coloured pencils, pastels.
- Black markers, fine liners.
- Easels, aprons.
All materials required are provided.
Course Fee
- Full Payment: 3,000 SEK for one child
- Sibling Discount: 20% off (total 4,800 SEK for two children from the same household)
